Masdar City and German Embassy to the UAE Host Exhibition on Germany’s Energy Transition at Masdar City

Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates; January 16, 2019 – The German Embassy to the UAE and Masdar City are hosting a photographic exhibition at Masdar City to highlight the transformation of Germany’s energy system. The exhibition titled ‘Energiewende’ – meaning energy transition – explains how the German energy transition is taking place and how the country is shifting its energy supply to renewables, making the industry more secure, affordable and sustainable. The launch of the exhibition took place at Masdar City yesterday attended by HE Ernst Peter Fischer, German Ambassador to the UAE and Plenipotentiary Representative of the Federal Republic of Germany to IRENA; HE Dr Andreas Liebmann, Ambassador of the Republic of Austria to the UAE; Yousef Baselaib, Executive Director, Sustainable Real Estate, Masdar, and Thorsten Herdan, Director-General for Energy Policy, Heating and Efficiency, Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy, Germany.
